Victoria Falls is a year-round destination, but the best time depends on the activities you want.
January to April/May:
The Victoria Falls are at their most spectacular during the wet season (March-May), boasting a dramatic flow and heavy spray. Consequently, you’ll definitely get wet on the cliff walk! Furthermore, this is the ideal time to witness the lunar rainbow. Nevertheless, high water levels mean that white-water rafting and Devil’s Pool are closed. Finally, be aware that it’s hot and humid, particularly in January and February.
June to August:
For the best views of Victoria Falls with less spray, peak season offers clearer photos. However, white-water rafting and Livingstone Island activities typically begin around mid-July. Additionally, these months are ideal for wildlife viewing in nearby parks. Alternatively, if you prefer fewer crowds, May and September are excellent choices.
September to November/December:
Water levels drop, making white-water rafting, Livingstone Island, and Devil’s Pool safe. The Falls are at their lowest in November and December, but it’s very hot and humid, especially from October onward.

Trust was recommended to us by our guest house. He is knowledgeable, friendly, organized and well connected to the community. He listened to our preferences and offered advice to improve our experience. One day he anticipated a necessity and met us with the solution preventing us from wasting time securing it ourselves. His ability to spot wildlife is impressive and he seems genuinely delighted to share the wonders of Victoria Falls with his guests.
During my first stay, Trust was perfect in organizing the three activities we did in two days: a sunset cruise, a visit to a village and meeting the locals, and Chobe National Park (all in one day). He took great care of me; I recommend Trust's services and advice without hesitation. I'm coming back in May for 10 days, and I know I can count on Trust's help to organize my stay without hesitation. For my second stay in May with my family and friends, Trust provided us with a program that perfectly met our expectations, both in terms of activities and the hotels offered. You can contact Trust with your eyes closed; his kindness and caring make him a rare person.
In my recent visit to Vic Falls, I had a privilege of being hosted by Trust, what a gentleman! From picking me up from the airport to ensuring that I get to where I need to be on time always. He also got me some of the best deals in exploring the area. He’s fully knowledgeable about the area. I will certainly use his services again when I go back to Vic Falls.
